Resolution Copper is Arizona Copper. Our project, a proposed mine outside of Phoenix, Arizona, has the potential to support nearly 25% of U.S. copper demand, giving Americans access to a critical resource for our everyday lives and the clean energy transition. The copper from the mine will be used to produce vital products that modern society depends upon, such as electric vehicles, smartphones, renewable electricity generation and MRI scanners. Resolution Copper will also deliver significant economic growth to nearby communities and the state of Arizona by providing jobs, tax revenue, and increased local spending over the project’s 60-year lifespan. We are committed to being good stewards of the environment, protecting culture and heritage in the areas where we operate, and contributing to the long-term success of our communities. The project is a joint venture owned by Rio Tinto (55%) and BHP (45%).

In 2003, the marketing activities of Phoenix Cement Company and Salt River Sand and Rock were integrated under the Salt River Materials Group (SRMG) commercial trade name to better capitalize on the synergies of related products for the concrete products industry. Headquartered at the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community's (SRPMIC) Chaparral Business Park near Scottsdale, AZ, SRMG is currently a leading supplier of portland and masonry cements, fly ash and other pozzolans, both normal and light weight aggregates, and natural gypsum products throughout Arizona and the Southwestern United States. With its strategically located manufacturing facilities, a large fleet of railcars, and an extensive network of rail-served bulk terminals, SRMG continues to deliver quality products and services to the demanding and rapidly-growing construction market. Florence Copper is an in-situ copper recovery project located midway between Phoenix and Tucson in the community of Florence, Arizona. Setting a new standard for conservation and environmental protection in copper mining, Florence Copper will produce LME Grade A copper metal on site with unmatched energy, water, and GHG conservation. As a significant employer in the region and the state, Florence Copper will support more than 810 Arizona jobs and produce copper, a vital material as the world transitions to a low-carbon future.
